Pictured below are my first attempts at hybridizing my own daylilies. I made the crosses in 2007 and planted them out in June of 2008. 2009 is the first year some have bloomed. Every day was like Christmas morning, not knowing what glorious blossoms awaited in each bud. Some of course were not so great but others got the Oh Wow! I can’t believe I created that!! Earlier I said I was going to leave the introductions to the experienced hybridizers but after seeing some of my crosses, I’m not so sure about that. What really astonishes me is the plant growth from a little seedling plant, to plants that have two or more fans, in such a short time
